Professional ADHD Evaluation and Diagnosis
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a broad umbrella term for attentional problems. Attentional problems can affect many areas of the brain, not just the ability to focus. Many people with ADHD have problems with executive function. Executive function is the brain’s ability to manage working memory, organization and planning.
People with ADHD tend to have multiple strengths, but ADHD-related attention issues can cause them to feel overwhelmed, which can make it difficult for them to stay focused or focus their attention – this can make school, work, home or other environments feel challenging.
Our ADHD Diagnostic Services offer a gold standard approach to accurately diagnose individuals struggling with ADHD. We have particular experience with adult assessment, with assessments taking place across at least 3 face to face appointments each lasting 90-180 minutes. Assessment includes application of various standardised and validated measures exploring not only core ADHD features but also executive functioning, cognitive functioning and sensory profiling, to provide a comprehensive report and recommendations alongside any diagnostic decision.

As a primarily psychological service, Spectrum follows NICE guidelines to outline psychosocial and environmental strategies for support. We do not provide medication, however we can support individuals to approach their GP or other practitioners to explore this should they wish to.
