Dr Lucy Stevens
Dr Lucy Stevens BSc MPhil DClinPsy PGCBTDip is our Sessional Clinical Psychologist (HCPC registration PYL32286). Lucy also works in the NHS, where she specialises in Psychosis. In addition to her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, she has a keen interest in research and neuropsychology, and completed an MPhil in this area prior to clinical training. Having recently completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Lucy is also a BABCP Accredited CBT Practitioner. Her passion to share experience and inspire others can be evidenced in her delivery of International Webinars on CBT for Psychosis and contribution to the evidence base by means of publication in peer reviewed academic journals and a chapter in an edited book. Lucy developed an interest in Autism through noting some of the commonalities and shared features in the way in autism, psychosis and the impact of early psychological trauma, can manifest in adulthood. Lucy believes that a key aspect of delivering specialist therapeutic interventions or conducting complex assessment is the ability to distinguish or understand the impact of enduring mental health difficulties and the possible presence, and relative impact, of a neurodivergent condition such as autism. This interest has led to involvement with autism assessments across NHS roles and Lucy has developed competence in the ACIA for assessment of autism in adults. Most importantly, Lucy believes in the value of harnessing, and eliciting, strengths and creativity in every individual she works with. Lucy brings each of these skills and qualities to her role with Spectrum Consultancy.
