Frequently Asked Questions
Common FAQ's
Do you do Right to Choose?
No. We are not registered to undertake Right to Choose (RTC) assessments. This is because the RTC process limits the amount of time we can spend on assessment to be viable, reducing quality. We pride ourselves on detail and personalisation of our assessments.
However, this is also why we keep prices as low as possible, to be accessible to as many people as we can.
How Long does Assessment Take?
A typical adult assessment includes at least 2 or 3 face-to-face (in person or online) appointments lasting 60-120 minutes or more, plus various psychometrics and questionnaires.
A typical child assessment is similar, but also includes 1/2 day school observation (where child is in school), and/or gathering of school/education information.
Combined ADHD & autism assessments will add at least 1 more face-to-face appointment and further psychometrics.
Appointments are spread across a few weeks.
What Happens at the End?
Once assessment is completed, the team discuss the results and make a diagnostic decision. This is fed back to you, and we prepare a highly detailed personalised report with recommendations. We can also provide shorter 'summary' reports, summary of recommendations, reasonable adjustments, etc., all within the overall fees.
We will communicate decision to your GP (with permission) and provide a follow-up appointment for you to ask questions / discuss the decision.
Are Your Diagnoses Accepted by NHS?
Yes. As HCPC registered clinical psychologists we are recognised as qualified to make diagnostic decisions. Additionally, the quality and detail in our reports and through our assessment process means the decisions are not queried.
Additionally, Dr Gullon-Scott provides training for NHS Trusts, and consultancy for wider health services, and is widely respected in the field.
